Dome Sweet Dome
Mile 1,860, Capitol Reef National Park, UT
On the east edge of Capitol Reef National Park, we come face to face with a series of peaks, the most unusual of which is the Navajo Dome (left), though I can’t help but call it The White Hershey Kiss. The area is named Capitol Reef because some of the domes within the park reminded people of the U.S. Capitol Dome in Washington. I guess Hershey’s wasn’t established yet.
