The Painted Desert
Mile 1,053, Painted Desert, AZ
Here’s one instance where the picture outperformed what our naked eyes saw. At the north end of the Petrified Forest lies the Painted Desert, a moon-like, reddish tableau that probably looks more spectacular at sunset as opposed to the noontime appointment we gave ourselves. At first glance, the colors looked washed out and the scene lacked visual excitement, but apparently this image, untouched by Photoshop editing, yielded a different point of view.
