Roto’ Tillin’
Mile 1,100, U.S. Highway 191
The road is torturous enough in those long dry stretches with monotonous scenery, but the last thing we needed on this patch of lonely, meandering road headed towards the Four Corners was a persistently bumpy road. Here, sealant used to cover the cracks on U.S. Highway 191 north of I-40 did nothing more than jar us every 50 feet or so. When we finally transitioned to smoother road a few miles later, it was if we were suddenly floating on air.
