Elkarazzi
Kachina Lodge, Grand Canyon, AZ
As I was struggling to rise out of bed, the kids went to the window and went wild about the sight out of the window. Probably a squirrel, I thought, but I played the good father and came over to the window…to see this. The elk apparently are occasional visitors to the South Rim, munching off rich green grass that’s hard to find elsewhere in the park. It was enough for the amateur photographers to turn their backs on sunrise over the Canyon.
