Sliding down from the heights of the South Rim among roadside Navajo fruit stands, turquoise stands and other stands, we find this crack in the land formed by the Little Colorado River, which ultimately hooks up with the Colorado and, for here at least, is surrounded by canyon walls up to 1,500 feet high.
