For those willing to let equines do the hard work getting up and down the Bright Angel Trail, mule rides are available for one-, two- and even three-day tours. Maybe the mules have it bad having the schlep 200 pounds of human cargo down and up the trail, but why do the poor souls on top have to wear all that apparel when it’s bound to get to 100 degrees at some point?
