Getting Our Kicks
Mile 629, Hackberry, AZ
It might have been evoked in Cars, but it definitely was Ferris Buehler who said that if you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it. We didn’t think there would be much to miss along Highway 66, given the dilapidated state of the famous road seen the previous day in California. But Arizona’s version of Route 66 impressed us, from the colorful scenery to the top-notch pavement conditions to the vibrant life along the route, which included the obligatory junkyard homage as shown at this blissfully cluttered stop in Hackberry.
