Mirror Lake
Yosemite National Park, CA
Touring Yosemite Valley by shuttle, we set out on one last hike for the trip at the east end of the valley to Mirror Lake; the irony of it all is that it was the kids who lobbied to do it. This small lake, shrinking every year (though I’m told it’s a natural process, not anything spurned on by us evil humans), was used to provide ice to help store food in the infant days of Yosemite tourism.
