Resort Pollution
Las Vegas, NV
In a high-class variation of some of those classic photos of town streets along Highway 66 clogged up with hotel and gas signage, we view the Strip at high noon and see the resorts and businesses along Las Vegas Boulevard jockeying for attention. There’s a part of me that wishes to hijack a time machine and come to Vegas in the Rat Pack days of the 1960s, when the Strip was hardly as congested but probably just as wild. We gave the minivan its one and only complete day off on the trip, relegating our travels to foot and monorail.
