The Lion Sleeps This Afternoon
Mile 2,436, Las Vegas, NV
It’s an unsettling image to be sure, but no worries—the lion’s fine and resting. This is actually one of the resident lions at the MGM Grand, across the pedestrian bridge from NYNY; it was lying on top of a transparent scenic walkway guests can stroll through. We were visiting the MGM to pick up our tickets for the Cirque du Soliel show KÁ, our second choice after we discovered that the Beatles’ Love was off for the week. Dark, grandiose and typically stunning for Cirque du Soliel, KÁ was a worthy backup plan.
