Airliners Don’t Die, They Just Fade Away in Mojave

Drivers spilling out from the Tehachapis into the High Desert near Mojave will likely be startled by the unexpected sight of an airport big enough to carry the International label. It’s actually called the Mojave Air & Space Port, and although its web site sells the facility as a vibrant home for cutting-edge aviation testing, it’s really a graveyard for airliners to be scrapped, remade or simply put out to pasture.
