The Tehachapis

Roaming eastward and uphill from Bakersfield, we’re given a welcome change of pace from the agricultural flatlands of the Central Valley and into the Tehachapis, which could be argued to be the southern tip of the Sierra Nevada. The region has a decidedly different look than my last drive through here four years earlier, when record-setting winter rainfall dressed these hills the into a vernal paradise.
